Plaster... lots of it.

Heres one of the many piles of plaster the demo crews have taken out... This is at the front door.

Third Floor looking toward rear

This floor will be a bedroom where I'm standing, bathroom in front of me, mechanical room (HVAC and water heater), and loft area with a small fridge and sink in corner cabinets

Area for master bath, laundry room, linen closet, and office with windows.

Second Floor looking toward front

Master Bedroom will be in the front of the home... morning light will directly hit our bed. Love it !!!

Second Floor

This is the second floor rear of the home. Badly collapsed due to water damage.. All the joist in this area, and probably 75% of the joists in the whole house will be replaced.

Original front steps

This house is just down the block from us and is the only house on the even side of the block with the original slate stairs.. very nice, very heavy !! We aren't sure what we'll do for steps yet...

Front retaining wall

Here's the front retaining wall of the home next to us. They also did the historic tax credit. So we'll want to do the same and make it look continuous across the front.

The salvaged pocket doors

Jeff Marks, member and future neighbor at 2244, helped me pull out the pocket doors and their hardware.

This is the bigger main pocket door for the parlor room. There are two more 'less wide' ones laying down behind it (one has the pulley still attached)

We hope to use one of the smaller doors as the slider door between the master bedroom and bath.

Interior...

Here's a historic mantle we were able to salvage. Its pretty beat up and missing some trim, but I think we can make it look nice.

This is currently sitting in the front 'parlor room' on the first floor as you walk into the home. This room is another historic feature we must maintain.

To the left is the wall I took the pocket door and associated hardware out of. We will be restoring it and maintaining the original configuration.

You can also see some of the original wall 'wainscoating' It's such a shame they let these homes become so dilapidated.
