YIPPEE!!!

So things around the house are pretty exciting! We have Almost all of our windows in. We passed the electrical inspection, HVAC and plumbing inspections early this week. The doors have been ordered (except the pocket door and the metal basement dorr). The Kitchen and Bar cabinets will be delivered the week of Labor Day.

It has been a long process but we are so excited and are going to love our new home! :)

Here is a non related house link... this is a view from our dinner table in Greece... Santorini... cant wait to go back!!!

To be repaired soon.... Our mansard gabled roof is missing a few tiles and needs some repair. This should be happening this week.

our view SE towards the inner harbor.. its been hot and hazy around here lately so this photo isn't great... but you can see the city skyline pretty nice from here.

our view NW towards the druid hill park reservior.

Our 3rd FL roof... You can see where the condensers will go and the locations for the skylights... the roof will be covered with another layer of white granule modified bitumen... the same as the two roofs over from us.. the vent for the tankless water heater is pretty spacey looking.

what a view! (too bad we cant have a roof top deck... oh well... maybe in a few years? dont tell brian!)

Pretty curvy windows :)

;) Cant wait!!!

Our resident Vanna White demonstrating how easy it will be for him to clean the windows! :)

Yep! More Windows!

A work in progress. Am I referring to the house or the man or maybe both?!?!

View down the breezeway between the houses... see those pretty windows!

All Gooked up to remove the paint off the back bricks... GO LEAD!!!!

Our pretty front windows... they are going to let so much light in!

Here is a photo of all the wiring we ran for the intercom and to wire the house for speakers... we will be putting in a wireless surveillance and security system... i think brian wants the one where you can log in online and see the house from anywhere... if the alarm is tripped it will call up to 4 personal numbers.. meaning our mobile phones.. really i just think he wants to be able to check up on me! make sure im not napping when im supposed to be cooking dinner or something of the sort.... maybe we'll to get to see what Momiji really does during the day...

Windows! By now all the windows are in the house (except one)!!!

update

Our windows arrived today, and will start beginning installed this weekend !!

We ordered all of our doors yesterday.
http://www.lemieuxdoors.com/
17 internal doors, all wood, historic 5 panel (C55)
2 double closet doors, 5 panel
1 bifold set for laundry, 5 panel

1 double french door with 15 light (1515)

3 exterior doors made of stain grade fur with insulated glass
rear exterior to porch (2081)
front exterior to porch (501)
front vestibule door (2081)

All rough framing, plumbing, HVAC, and Electrical will be complete by next friday for inspections !!!!!!

We are saving some money by doing the low voltage wiring ourselves. That means intercom/door bell, speakers, video, and security. The electrician is wiring each room with phone, data, and coax cable, but we are doing everything else. We'll probably have a system that we can access and control over the internet, by turning off alarm, viewing a video camera, etc. The system will call up to 4 numbers when alarm goes off, so we can get calls right to our mobile phone. Now we just have to put conduit up to a point that isn't accessible to the ground without a ladder... why.. well a perp could just cut the lines before going in.. sure, the alarm would go off, but no calls could go out.

plumbing and gas lines in the basement. they really did a good job of keeping everything out of the way and tucked nicely together...

Weve got gas!!! Well almost, the main gas line in has not been connected into the street. All the internal gas lines have been run except the cooktop, which we are waiting to do when the island cabinets are set in place.

The sturdiest makeshift ladder ever... we considered keeping this as our finish ladder but thought no one would help us move!

more basement... the large portion on the basement is through the door....

basement...

The makings of our safe room... just kidding... or am i??

Yep... More recessed lights... (3rd floor loft/massive entertainment area!)

Cant wait to take a bath in our jacuzzi tub :)

weve pretty much put recessed lights EVERYWHERE!!!!

A lot of people came out this year for the comunity clean up! We didnt expect such a good turnout as it was so hot. This is just a photo of some of us focusing on the alleys. There were lots of others in the fronts picking up trash around the neighborhood. Its a tiresome battle but if we are persistent we will be rewarded for our efforts.

Everyone steps back while the rats make their way to safety.

Can you spot one of the 10 or more rats who called this pile of trash home??

Job Well Done!

Too bad the truck is in the shop because that would make this a lot easier!!

It took Brian all morning on Sunday and Monday night until after dark to finally get this out of the ground!

The size of it!!!!
Our tree stump remover at a well earned breakfast!

We have tubs... in place... the plumbing has been run and set but you cant see that in this photo... you would be amazed how fast things go... if you dont get to the house in a day or 2 there is so much new to see!

Move HVAC. They are pretty much done the HVAC now. The electrician is in and running his wires. Brian and I are planning on doing our own security system and running the speaker wires to save some money.

They reinforced the curved wall for the Parlor Room. i think I could leave it as is without drywall!
