So things around the house are pretty exciting! We have Almost all of our windows in. We passed the electrical inspection, HVAC and plumbing inspections early this week. The doors have been ordered (except the pocket door and the metal basement dorr). The Kitchen and Bar cabinets will be delivered the week of Labor Day.
It has been a long process but we are so excited and are going to love our new home! :)

Here is a photo of all the wiring we ran for the intercom and to wire the house for speakers... we will be putting in a wireless surveillance and security system... i think brian wants the one where you can log in online and see the house from anywhere... if the alarm is tripped it will call up to 4 personal numbers.. meaning our mobile phones.. really i just think he wants to be able to check up on me! make sure im not napping when im supposed to be cooking dinner or something of the sort.... maybe we'll to get to see what Momiji really does during the day...

update
Our windows arrived today, and will start beginning installed this weekend !!
We ordered all of our doors yesterday.
http://www.lemieuxdoors.com/
17 internal doors, all wood, historic 5 panel (C55)
2 double closet doors, 5 panel
1 bifold set for laundry, 5 panel
1 double french door with 15 light (1515)
3 exterior doors made of stain grade fur with insulated glass
rear exterior to porch (2081)
front exterior to porch (501)
front vestibule door (2081)
All rough framing, plumbing, HVAC, and Electrical will be complete by next friday for inspections !!!!!!
We are saving some money by doing the low voltage wiring ourselves. That means intercom/door bell, speakers, video, and security. The electrician is wiring each room with phone, data, and coax cable, but we are doing everything else. We'll probably have a system that we can access and control over the internet, by turning off alarm, viewing a video camera, etc. The system will call up to 4 numbers when alarm goes off, so we can get calls right to our mobile phone. Now we just have to put conduit up to a point that isn't accessible to the ground without a ladder... why.. well a perp could just cut the lines before going in.. sure, the alarm would go off, but no calls could go out.

A lot of people came out this year for the comunity clean up! We didnt expect such a good turnout as it was so hot. This is just a photo of some of us focusing on the alleys. There were lots of others in the fronts picking up trash around the neighborhood. Its a tiresome battle but if we are persistent we will be rewarded for our efforts.
